Easter Island - Restrictions

Jul 20, 2024

It is strictly prohibited to remove ancient artefacts.

You are not allowed to bring ashore any fruits, vegetables, meats or any garbage of any type (including paper, plastics etc.) but you are allowed to keep them aboard.

You will be asked by the authorities to not throw any organic waste (peels, etc) overboard that was not purchased on the island to avoid external contamination of the ecosystem.

It is not necessary to have someone remain on the boat at all times or monitor VHF Channel 16.
