  • From April 2020, for the health and well-being of the Rapanui people, travel to Easter Island was prohibited to all international visitors. Chile mainland also closed its
    borders to international travelers.
  • Easter Island reopened to tourism on August 4th, 2022 (after 868 days of closure), with strict entry protocols.
  • December 2022, entry rules were eased.
