Argentina - Restrictions

Restrictions for Yachts in Argentina

All vessels are required to report upon entering or exiting from national waters.

Depending on your position, reports should be made to the following reporting stations:

VTS Mar del Plata - Maritime (L2T)
Between Lat. south 35 º 50 and Lat. 42 º 00 ‘south
Via: HF 4354 Khz - 8713 Khz

Note: The station maintains permanent listening on the SMM distress, emergency and safety channels (2182 Khz and 4125 Khz).

Reports: All vessels must report upon entry/exit from national waters at 0000 and 1200 UTC.

VTS Comodoro Rivadavia - Maritime (L3A)
Between Lat. 42 º 00 ‘south and Lat. 54 º 30 ‘south

VTS Ushuaia - Maritime (L30)
South of Parallel Lat. 54 º 30 ‘south
Via: MF/HF: 2065 Khz - 4354 Khz.

Note: All vessels must maintain permanent listening on the internationally established listening frequencies in the MF/HF and VHF frequency bands on Channel 16 (156.6000 MHz).

Reports: All vessels must report upon entry/exit from national waters at 0200 and 1400 UTC.

Other Restrictions:

• The naval bases of Mar del Plata and Puerto Belgrano (38°54'S 62°06'W) are prohibited areas.
• Fishing is only permitted if in possession of a valid permit. The open season for fishing is November to February or March.
