  • Jamaicans dress smartly and many government offices and banks have dress code notices. Beachwear should be only worn on the beach.
  • Good manners are important in Jamaica. Always greet people politely, treat elders with respect and acknowledge fellow passengers when getting into a route taxi.
  • Women smoking is frowned upon.
  • Tipping isn’t part of local Jamaican customs and certain venues and all-inclusive resorts prohibit tipping.
