Arriving by Yacht

Length of Stay:

Yachts may stay up to six months, which is the length of the cruising permit. Foreign yachts must leave the country for a minimum of 15 days before re-entering and purchasing a new cruising permit. See documents for more details.

Other Customs Rules:

  • Firearms must be declared. On November 1, 2022, the Firearms Act 2022 (Prohibition, Restriction and Regulation) went into effect. It is strictly forbidden to import or possess firearms in Jamaica without prior authorization from the Firearms Licensing Authority of Jamaica.
  • There is also a ban on importing  E-cigarettes, with many people having devices confiscated when trying to enter the country.
