Benoa - Clearance

General Clearance:

Clearance procedures are carried out at Benoa Port (which is the commercial port) All CIQP offices are located within a short walk from the Benoa Bali Marina.  It is possible to check in without an agent.  The process can take up to four hours.

A Cruising Permit (Port Clearance) is needed from the Harbour Master when departing from the first entry port and this covers all further domestic port visits (in practice some Harbour Masters want notification and charge a small fee). All yacht crew are treated as tourists for immigration and must follow standard visa rules.

Note: Legally, once the sailing permit is issued at the entry port, yachts do NOT have to do any domestic reporting/clearances.

International Clearance:

All the necessary offices are within walking distance of each other.  The Harbor Master, Quarantine, Immigration and Customs offices are very close to each other and all within a 10 minute walk in the Port precinct.

Land at the Benoa Bali marina dock and walk to the Harbor Masters office, look for “KSOP Benoa” on the front of the building. Immigration and Quarantine offices are on the main road.  Customs is behind the police station, half a block away on a side road.

Visas on Arrival cost 500,000 rupiah per person and there is also a 500,000 rupiah Quarantine fee.

Quarantine and Customs officials will want to visit your vessel so be prepared to take them out and back in your dinghy if you are at anchor.  It is much easier to do this at Benoa than to travel back and forth from Serangan.

Visit the Harbour Master first, followed by Quarantine, Immigration and Customs (in that order) before returning to the Harbour Master to get crew lists stamped.

Offices are open every day, usually till 6pm with some open 24 hours due to it being a busy port.

Departure Procedures

When leaving Bali, it is advisable to check out with the Harbor Master and tell him if your next port is your check-out of Indonesia port.  You will need to get an outward Bali Port Clearance.

You will also need to visit Quarantine again for two more certificates - the Medicine Chest & Port Health Clearance.
