Be conscious of the fact that Northern Cyprus is considered as an "occupied territory" by the Republic of Cyprus (Southern Cyprus) and that there may be strong political feelings within the country. Take care when discussing these political matters.
There are occasional political rallies or demonstrations regarding this political situation, particularly in the capitol. Though they are normally well-controlled, take caution to avoid the areas involved.
