Internet
Wifi is available in the marina for a fee of €2 or €9 per week, but the connection is often poor.
There is also WiFi with good speeds at the Velero 1906 restaurant at the base of the marina's north breakwater and at the Optimist Lounge Bar at the south end of the marina.
There are also a number of bars in the marina with free Wifi if you buy a coffee. Both yacht clubs have WiFi and there are various internet offices and cafes in town.
The post office will hold mail for yachts: c/o Oficina del Puerto, Muelle Deportivo, 35005 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The nearest post office to the Muelle Deportivo is in Paseo de Lugo, on the corner of Matias Padrone (open 0800 - 2100 Monday to Friday, 0900 - 1400 Saturday).
Telephone, Mobiles & Fax
International calls can be made from coin & card phones opposite the post office, near pontoon 10 and also at the fuel dock (where you can buy phone cards). There is also a telephone office in Calle Luis Morote (north side of Parque Santa Catalina), open daily 0930 - 2300 (an hour later on Sunday mornings). Reverse charge calls cannot be made here; these are only possible from the main post office, located on Calle Primero de Mayo. Metred calls can be made from other offices showing the green telephone sign.
Mobiles: It is cheap to buy a Spanish mobile and SIM card, typically 20-30€ for a phone and some credit. You will need your passport to buy them. There are many shops phone shops in the city or visit El Corte Ingles. The main providers in the Canary Islands are Movistar and Vodafone. Orange also has some shops.
Faxes can be sent and received at Copy Flash on Calle Luis Doreste Silva, or at the telephone and fax office next to Canteras beach, Dr. Grau Bassas 46, open daily 1000 - 2330, and also at the main post office.
