Animals must be declared.

Your pet dog or cat must be microchipped.

Cat requirements

  • Must be vaccinated against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia (FVRCP).
  • Must be vaccinated for Rabies between 21 days and 12 months before entering Ecuador.

Dog requirements

  • Must be vaccinated against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus (DHLPP). Dogs entering Ecuador from Australia can have a Microscopic Agglutination test instead of a Leptospirosis test.
  • Must be vaccinated for Rabies between 21 days and 12 months before entering Ecuador.

Documents required

All pets entering Ecuador must have a valid certificate of vaccination against rabies. The certificate must be current and issued by a licensed veterinarian.

A Health Certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian in your home country, confirms that your pet is healthy and free from any infectious diseases.

An Import Permit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in Ecuador.
