The French influence means food is of good quality compared to Djibouti's neighbours, though expensive.
There is an excellent "Geant" supermarket in the mall. There is also a Casino Supermarket. It is expensive, but very well stocked and sells alcohol and a Noughmarket which also has good provisioning. However, you will need to taxi to get to them.
There is a good market in the town centre and several small shops for fresh produce.

Most shops are open 08:00-12:00 than 16:00-21:00, Sunday to Thursday.
Laundry:
There are some of the local women who may happy to do your laundry for a good price.
