Colombia - Restrictions

Cruising Permits around Santa Marta (including Tayrona Natural National Park):

If you want to cruise around the Park (including 5 bays) you should ask your agent for a Cruising permit (Certificado de Permanencia) when first clearing into Colombia (even though this is not usually required if you are just planning a short stay in the city).

It is not permitted to anchor in the park if you do not have a permit, even if you are heading to Santa Marta and want to just stop-off on the way. The only way around this would be to obtain a Cruising Permit and visa in advance from a Colombian embassy or consulate.
