History:

  • Colombia closed to international vessels on March 17th, 2020.
  • Maritime borders opened on December 1st, 2020.
  • The National lockdown (stay-in-place order) ran from March 25 to May 11, and the state of emergency ended August 31st, 2020. Since then Colombia has cautiously been bringing itself out of lockdown.
  • Into 2021 and the PCR testing requirement for arriving travelers was suspended during April - and then reversed.
  • Finally on June 8th, 2021, a PCR test was no longer required, making Colombia one of the easiest places to enter in the Caribbean region.
  • From December 14th, 2021, stricter restrictions were introduced mandating that only vaccinated travelers could enter the country.
  • From January 5th, 2022, further restrictions were introduced with the requirement to arrive with a negative PCR test (or be tested on arrival while quarantining on board).
  • January 15th, rules changed again with the vaccination requirement suspended.
