Water is a scarce commodity here. The electricity company is also responsible for the water supply on the island. They use the desalinization process to get sweet water, meaning that every litre is produced by diesel and consequently limited, and expensive.
At the marina, you have to pay additionally for the water you use, both on the dock and in the showers (100 litres free).
The best time to take a shower is between 4 and 6 pm because the showers run on solar heaters only i.e. after sunset the water can get chilly.
