COVID-19:

History: 

  • Mid-March, 2020, only yachts in an emergency were permitted to enter Bonaire with 14 days quarantine on arrival. Flights from Europe, North America, Colombia and the DR were suspended.
  • On 23 March, 2020, all airports and seaports closed in Bonaire.
  • In May, the Port Authority began collecting information of vessels that wanted to come to Bonaire for the hurricane season. Special permission was granted to some yachts that qualified, two boats per week entered.
  • In June, pleasure vessels were granted entry into Bonaire ONLY with a slip booking and 14 days quarantine on arrival (six boats per week). Boats that could prove they had been cruising in the ABCs for the last 14 days and no where else were permitted to enter without quarantine.
  • From November, arriving with negative test results meant no quarantine was necessary. Quarantine time was reduced to 10 days if arriving without test results.
  • In April 2021, quarantine was removed for all arrivals except those from South America and Santa Domingo.
  • In 2022 restrictions eased with much simpler entry permitted from the Caribbean Netherlands.
  • July 2022, all restrictions were lifted.
