A listening watch must be kept of VHF channel 16 while in Latvian waters.
Anchoring is not permitted in the navigation channels and rivers approaching the ports and in port areas.
Drinking alcohol in public is prohibited and may lead to detention and a financial penalty. According to national regulations the alcohol limit for operator of recreational craft is 0,5/ml
when navigating in inland waters and at sea. Heavy penalties are applied for exceeding this
limit.
Life jackets are compulsory for children in all conditions.
No antifouling regulations for recreational craft up to 24m LOA.
