Although water can be in short supply, reasonable amounts of water are available at Betio. Drinking water should be treated or boiled.
One Liter water bottles of pure drinking water can be purchased at the Tarawa Motors in Antenon on Teaoraereke (Tarawa).

The fish factory sells good quality desalinated water to fishing boats for $8/tonne. If you need any, contact the General Manager Mr. Lee to make arrangements. Then contact Port Control (VHF channel 06) to arrange to tie up to the wharf. Explain you are getting water, as only there is only one watering point.
