The Internet is on the whole very good in Indonesia. A cheap Telekomsel dongle/card will give you high-speed Internet access in the most obscure places. Read the restrictions for the packages carefully before buying to be sure you are getting what you need.

Mobile phone Sims are also very cheap and international calls very reasonable.

• If you are in Indonesia as a visitor and want to use your phone - it must be registered with Indonesian Customs prior to use or the phone will be blocked. Before visiting your local Customs office, go online at https://www.beacukai.go.id/ and register. After successfully registering you will get a QR code which will be needed at Customs in order to process your registration.
