Bahia del Sol - Provisions & Laundry

Within walking distance from the hotel there are a few small tiendas that carry basic foods such as eggs, UHT milk, etc.

A 10 minute bus ride along the Costa Del Sol main road is the “Supermercado. This is generally stocked for people going to the beach and carries wine, beer, chips, a good selection of basic canned goods, chips, dip and a small selection of meats and local cheese.

For local provisioning take your dinghy 3.5NM up the estuary to the town of Herradura. There is a large open market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a regular grocery store “Dispensa Familiar”.

Better shopping is available in Zacatecoluca, a 1 ½ hrs bus ride from Bahia Del Sol. All provisions are available in Zacatecoluca. Dispensa Don Juan is a fully modern supermarket. There is also a traditional outdoor market. Take a left at the first intersection past the shopping center and go up about 6 blocks to the local street market. Here you can find most anything. The fruits and vegetables are much better than the grocery store in the shopping center.

The Bahia del Sol Hotel will take your laundry. It will typically be returned on the following day. Bring your laundry to Recepcion and they will weigh it and you sign for it. Then take your laundry and the signed receipt to the laundry room. The cost is US$1/pound. Pick up your laundry in the hotel laundry area.
