Cuba - Fees

Immigration Fees:

Tourist Card (issued on arrival): USD $75. Extensions cost $25.

Signing on Crew: USD $5 per person

Signing off Crew: USD $15 per person

Clearance and Cruising Permit:

Approx. USD $55/60 per boat, to be paid when clearing in.

Health Check:

USD $30 per person.

Departure Tax:

USD $25 per person.

There are no overtime fees.

Marina Berths:

Marina Hemingway: $.70/ft for up to 45’, $1.00/ft up to 75’. Includes utilities. Discount for longer stays if you pay in advance.

Marina Gaviota: $.60/ft - offer discounts for longer stays.

Note: Marina bills can only be paid by credit card so make sure you hold a card that is recognized in Cuba.

Boat Caretaking (if leaving your boat in Cuba) costs in the region of USD$100-$200 per month (depending on what you want them to do).

Notes:

  • Have a credit card to pay the marina bill on departure (they do not accept cash). US cards do not work in Cuba.
  • Nearly every official would prefer to barter than be paid cash, or be given a gift as well as cash. Gifts such as toiletries, tee shirts, notebooks and pencils, old rope, sails, old and broken mobile phones and other electronics are all very gratefully accepted.
