Both the Guarita and Continente supermarket chains have outlets in Praia da Vitoria. Guarita tends to be slightly more economical.
There are also a number of smaller grocery stores. The food and vegetable markets are very good and an excellent farmers’ market is held on the road from Angra to Biscoitos on a Sunday morning—great if you need a new chicken, cow or goat.
