The large Graeco-Roman city at Paestum is definitely worth a visit, as is the local museum which houses some unique painted tombs.
The train to Paestum is easy and cheap (1.80 Euros). From the Paestum train station, it is an easy walk straight across the road to the archaeological site.
It is also possible to visit Pompeii on the train from here.
