Car hire is near the station. Turn right when leaving the port.
There is a ferry to Valletta, Malta.
Buses for Etna, the airport, Palermo and various nearby towns depart from the piazzas near the train station.
There are fairly frequent train departures for Taormina, Syracuse, Messina and the mainland.
