Venice (Italy) - Docking

Sep 08, 2023

Anchoring:

Anchoring is prohibited in the lagoon due to underwater cables.

Marinas:

There are several options for berthing in Venice itself and also elsewhere in the lagoon and close by along the coast.

Berths in the city centre are controlled by Venice Yacht Pier (VYP) - see their business listing below. Contact them in advance to arrange a berth.

Punta della Salute is conveniently in the heart of the city and close to the harbour and Customs offices. Moor between the huge mooring posts (NOT to the quay). It is rather uncomfortable due to the constant wash from passing boats. It is operated by VYP. Assistance with mooring is recommended. If berthing here your yacht must be lit at night.

Marina Certosa on Isola Certsoa lies adjacent to Venice and is reported to be reasonably priced.

Many of the marinas offer a free shuttle service into the City.

The river Sile is close to the town of Cavallino and is about 10nm east of the main entrance to the Venetian lagoon. It is around one hour by boat from the centre of Venice. There are several marinas here.

More information about marinas in the Venetian lagoon on the Chioggia page.
