Tarempa, Siantan (Anambas Islands) - Clearance

Aug 30, 2024

Tarempa became an Official Port of Entry in February 2017. Yachts can now visit the islands without first clearing into Indonesia at Nongsa Point on Batam Island.

See the main Indonesia/Formalities page for full details on clearing into and out of Indonesia.

Report to the officials here, even if you are not clearing into or out of the country. You must visit Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and the Port Captain/Harbormaster in that order. Take along your boat stamp. Clearance is free.

Port Captain.  Their office is next to the Ferry Terminal.  Ask for the Syahbandar (“si-ban-dar”), but the sign outside the office is “Kementerian Perhubungan”.

Quarantine.  Their office is behind two government buildings across the street from the hospital, next to the Tarempa Beach hotel. The sign outside the office is “Departemen Kesehatan”.

Immigration.  Their office is on a road parallel to the main street.  Turn right at the end of the boardwalk from the floating dinghy dock and after 200 meters take the road to the left that goes over a small bridge.  Before the bridge, turn left and the immigration office is on the left. The sign outside the office is “Kantor Immigrasi”.

The Navy may also visit your boat. All officials are reported to be very helpful and courteous.

Clearing out: Visit the offices in the same order. The only fee is for harbor dues.

ALERT: Noonsite has been advised of a new regulation for yachts visiting Indonesia by a reliable agent in Indonesia, however, further information is proving hard to come by. Since July 1, 2024, it is no longer permitted to change crew or add new crew members (i.e. crew lists from the port of entry must be the same at the port of departure). Having investigated it appears this new rule is only being actively enforced by officials the Anambas Islands, however, we are endeavouring to get more details. If any cruisers have come across this new rule, please get in touch with the team at noonsite@noonsite.com.
