Description:
Belitung and all its surrounding islands are the "icing on the cake" when cruising Indonesia. For many cruisers, these islands are the ideally placed on the route to or from Singapore and provide a good place to either check into or out of Indonesia.
Tanjung Pandan is the principal port on Belitung Island and lies on the west coast. The downtown area still has many Dutch Colonial buildings and shops. Most of the governmental buildings are the original Dutch buildings and the old Dutch tin mining housing compound is still maintained.
Entrance Notes and Cautions:
The harbour in Tanjung Pandan can get crowded and is dirty according to cruiser reports.

Plenty of time should be saved to really enjoy everything this cruising ground has to offer.
