This open bay would be a roadstead in the wrong conditions but is benign during the cruising season. Yachts can tuck inside behind a reef that extends and curls around the bay. Holding and protection are good. The sand is black here.
There is a long pier for getting ashore, although it's only accessible at high tide. At other times pull your dinghy up the beach.
Provisioning is easier here with a local market, a number of smaller stores and a good supermarket close to the beach.
