COVID-19: OPEN PORT

Description:

Port-au-Prince (sometimes abbreviated PAP), as a port of call, has little to attract cruisers. The major wharf lands directly in the Cite Soleil slum and it is not advised to land here at the current time.

Port-au-Prince is the largest city in the country and therefore is where any/all services may filter through. If you need repairs or anything for your boat, it will likely require a trip to PAP. Shipping elsewhere, even the larger cities, is inconsistent or takes a long time.

The US State Department and UK FCO advise against travel to certain neighbourhoods of Port-au-Prince including Cite Soleil and Carrefour and to be generally vigilant when travelling in Port-au-Prince (particularly at night).

Position:

18° 34.86'N, 72° 21.08'W (off the port)
