Retesting in progress

YachtFlags.com provides high quality courtesy flags that are manufactured in durable Knitted Polyester fabric. Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.

There are several "resorts" where yachts can anchor close by. None are particularly commercial and each offers different views of the local wildlife; exotic birds and butterflies, sloths, parrots, monkeys etc.
In particular, Hurakabra, Banganara and Shanklands are very welcoming, helpful and offer a range of facilities. Banganara is the only one open over the Christmas holiday period. Hurakabra (see anchorage in below photo) is run by Raj Ragbeer and offers a great many services for cruising boats.

One thing to remember is that the afternoon rain storms are often accompanied by winds of F5 or more, although the anchorages in the river are safe and the holding is good.
Medium sized coastal traders and large tug/barge combinations navigate the River past Bartica. When anchoring off Bartica ensure you are well clear of the channel and are well lit at night.
