Iles des Saintes - Docking

Feb 06, 2024

Anchoring:

Anchoring in Les Saintes is not permitted in or near the mooring fields. However, there is one area where anchoring is permitted to the south, opposite Ilet a Cabrit, behind the yellow buoys.

Moorings:

There are 4 mooring fields - one off the SW coast of Ilet a Cabrit and the other three off Terre-de-Haut: two off the town of Anse-Mire and one further west north of Pointe Boisjoli.

It is advisable to arrive as early in the day as possible, if you have not booked, as most moorings are occupied by midday. Moorings are white with a large metal ring on top, making pick up easy, but the ring can cause problems if the wind drops by banging against your hull.

There are only a few moorings that can accommodate larger yachts. Best to call on VHF or telephone and ask for guidance.

Prices depend on the size of the yacht. Go to the LSM office to pay (or they may get collected in season). Approx. 15 Euros per day - discounts if you pay weekly. Once paid, you can move between moorings if you wish.

There are at present, no moorings at Anse Fideling on Terre D’en Bas.

Garbage can be collected daily for a small charge. Call on VHF before 0800. There is recycling here, so be sure to separate your rubbish. Alternatively, take your garbage ashore to the dinghy dock where there is a map showing you the location of various recycling bins.

The LMS dinghy can deliver fresh bread from the bakery at 08:00 every morning.

It's also possible to arrange water via LSM, which can be obtained at the ferry dock and fits in around the ferry schedule (normally early morning).

Cruisers report the main anchorage to be rather uncomfortable due to the substantial ferry traffic. See comments via the speech bubble icon.

Security:

In January 2024, a locked dinghy was stolen from the dinghy dock in Terre D'en Haut.

In January 2023, thieves tried to steal a dinghy that was secured to the dinghy dock in Terre D'en Haut.  After taking two anchors, they set the dinghy adrift.

Theft of 2 fishing rods from a yacht on a mooring here was reported to CSSN in February 2022. The safety straps had been cut.
