The harbor is accessed through the twin road and rail lifting bridges. If needing to wait for them to open, there is a yacht haven on the western bank.
Beware that the direction of the buoyage changes at the bridges if proceeding beyond Stralsund, either north or southward.
There are plenty of anchorages in the channel as well as yacht haven berths in the town, slightly outside, or on the island of Denholm.
