Repair facilities in Puerto Ayora, although limited, are surprisingly good for such a small place. This is due to a large number of excursion boats based there, local mechanics being extremely adept at making emergency repairs.
The only haul-out facility in the islands is a drying grid in the inner harbor in Puerto Ayora. This can be used depending on the state of the tides. One must get permission from the port captain to use it.
