The estuary dries a long way out and the buoyed channel constantly shifts. In even moderate southwesterly winds the seas break heavily well out to sea. Aim for the safe watermark and the current channel markers should be seen.
A shelter is good except in strong north westerlies.
Beware of the strong current in the river. The marina is downstream of the low bridge.
