Royan & Port Medoc - Docking

Aug 20, 2015

The Royan harbor area is large with plenty of marina berths and moorings. There is also a new marina just S of Port Bloc on the opposite shore.

The town of Royan itself provides all facilities and services of a popular holiday resort and forms a useful jumping off point for cutting across Biscay to Bilbao.

Port Medoc lies on the southern side of the estuary. Take care is entering at night as immediately inside the breakwaters are a series of unlit green buoys at the base of the wall and a single unlit red buoy marking the end of a floating barrier. The marina is usually pretty crowded.
