Manta - Clearance

Jan 18, 2020

This is a port of Entry.

See Ecuador Clearance for full details of clearance procedures.

If you anchor in the port of Manta to clear into the country, it has been reported that an agent is mandatory (cost US$400). It has also been reported that agency services are not very efficient, so be sure you are internationally cleared in by both Immigration and Customs.

Most cruisers berth at Puerto Amistad and if undertaking clearance themselves, come to Manta to complete the process.

Immigration in Manta: Centro de Mediacion, Calle Rio Esmeralda y Av Jocay (Bario La Aurora) - located adjacent to the Port Captain's office. Visit this office first. You will need to go and pay for entry at the Banco Pacifico in Manta before returning to the immigration office.

Customs in Manta: Aduana del Ecuador, Port: Av.Circunvalacion / Malecon. Customs is free of charge and very easy.

On clearing out a visit to Immigration and Customs is required once again. Immigration departure clearance in Manta can only be started one day prior to departure.
