Mountain biking, hiking, horse riding, caving and rock climbing are all activities catered for in this area.
Samana has some of the best whale-watching in the world. Best seen from mid-January to mid-March. Remember to keep a safe distance from the tour boats.
Los Haitises National Park. This area has one of the most important rainforests and mangrove reserves in the entire Caribbean, complete with keys and caves. There is a charge of 100 pesos per person.
El Limon Waterfall, El Limon. The waterfall is about 300 meters above sea level and has a 40-meter drop that ends in a very deep pool of crystal clear water.
