Tofino - Docking

Dec 02, 2022
Suggested anchoring area at Browning Passage SW from Tofino.

Anchorages:

Anchoring near Arnet island, North of Tofino, is difficult due to strong currents and local liveaboards, who occupy a lot of the available spots.

The easiest anchoring is in Browning Passage, SE from Tofino. There is still strong current, but good holding and plenty of room. It is approx. 1 NM (2km) from Tofino and a safe and sheltered area. Pay attention to the submerged water line visible on most of the charts near the suggested anchoring area.

Tofino does have a few private and government marinas, which are busy during the summer season. Dinghies can be tied up at government marinas or public wharfs (possibly at the fuel dock's small private marina).
