There is a free shuttle every Tuesday and Friday to Vandentweel's grocery store. Departs from the street in front of the Harbour Village marina or the fisherman's dock and as it is only a 12 seater van, reservations are recommended to: Theresebonaire@gmail.com

There are several good supermarkets in Kralendijk and although the selection might be better in Curaçao, the advantage of shopping in Bonaire is that everything is very conveniently situated. Several shops sell case lots at a reduced price.

Cultimara is located in downtown Kralendijk, within walking distance of the dinghy dock. The Warehouse (located on the way to the airport from town) is the largest supermarket on Bonaire and delivers free. They receive fresh produce on Thursdays (you may want to call them to confirm 717-8700).

There are also a few more informal ones. In particular, near the Town Pier, Venezuelan produce merchants set up shop in a covered pavilion and sell fresh produce straight from the farm. Practice your Spanish a little before shopping here if you want to get the best price.

Fresh fish is also available on Bonaire, with Wahoo or Dorado being sold for as little as US$2.50 a pound. However, the fish sellers work out of their homes, and don't always have fish available, nor are always in. Ask a local how to find a local fish seller. The best time of the day is usually between 5 and 6 pm because then the fishermen have returned with their catches.
