Mooloolaba - Docking

Jun 06, 2023

Maritime Safety Queensland has issued a warning to yachts entering and leaving Mooloolaba that a hydrographic survey of the Mooloolah River and its coastal bar on Wednesday 31 May 2023, showed a shoal patch extending from the end of the eastern breakwater in a westerly direction across the entrance channel.

Dredging operations have begun and anyone entering or leaving should contact the dredge master on VHF Channel 16 or 82 to ensure it is safe to pass.  See the latest Notice to Mariners from Maritime Safety Queensland.

The entrance is well-buoyed and lit and provides an all-weather harbour,

Visiting boats are permitted to anchor in the lagoon at the western end of the harbour. The shelter is excellent and the holding good in a mud bottom.

There are several marinas here.
