Translink is the Brisbane area integrated bus/train/ferry system. It extends out quite far – easily 1+ hour train journey north/south. Get a $10 (refundable) plastic “GoCard” from 7-11 stores. Concession cards are available for children and seniors. Cards can be topped up at 7-11s, main train stations, or online with a credit card automatically. Using cash on buses is about 30% more expensive.
Just remember to swipe on and OFF each bus or train or ferry. If you forget to swipe off, the system will charge you a much larger amount.
