Description:
An excellent base from which to visit Mount Etna and Taormina, although it is subjected to ash fallout from the volcano.
The marinas in Porto Nuovo on the eastern breakwater, offer the cheapest berths and good facilities. It is a fairly long walk to the centre of the town, but worth the effort to see the buildings there.
