COVID-19: OPEN PORT
Description:
Cap-Haitien is in a relatively protected bay in the North of Haiti. This area has been avoided in the past due to some local unrest, but recent reports (Jan 2018) have indicated some of that unruly past may be over.
Labadie is a touristy cruise port about 3nm west of Cap-Haitien. It has a large breakwater and cruise terminal with all the associated facilities typical for ports such as this. The Labadie cruise port is a cloister – you wouldn't know you were in Haiti if you never left the grounds.
Near Cap-Haitien is the Citadelle Laferriere, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also a good location for provisioning with a large local market (in a historical building). There are supermarkets and some supplies for boats.
Position:
19° 46.32'N, 72° 10.86'W (Cap Haitian bay)
