Guam - Immigration

Immigration Procedure:

Citizens of the USA can live, work, study, and travel freely with no restrictions other than having a passport for entry and as proof of citizenship. All other nationalities are handled nearly identically as mainland USA or nearby Northern Marianas (CNMI).

Immigration requirements for Guam and the Northern Marianas are, in general, the same as for mainland USA. See Noonsite/USA/Immigration.

This, therefore, requires visitors arriving by yacht to have a US visa in advance of arrival.

The Guam-CNMI VWP (Visa Waiver Program) is not applicable for non-immigrant aliens arriving by yacht.

All visitors must have a valid passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your stay.

Other Visa Information:

A US visa can be applied for at any US embassy prior to arrival - approximate cost US$250.

If you wish to extend your stay, you must file a request with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) before the expiration of your authorized stay.

Citizens of Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Nauru, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom do not need a visa or ESTA to visit both Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands for a stay of up to 45 days when arriving by commercial carrier.

The VWP permits citizens of 40 countries to travel to the United States by air for tourism purposes for stays of up to 90 days without a visa. ESTA electronic travel authorization is required.

The VWP permits travelers who experience an unexpected accident or need to be hospitalized while in Saipan or Guam to extend their stay. If a local doctor believes that medical care is required, a 15-day grace period will be provided in addition to the standard 45-day stay. Other reasons for an extension of stay are not permitted.

Non-immigrant aliens must be in possession of a round trip ticket that is nonrefundable and nontransferable and bears a confirmed departure date not exceeding 45 days from the date of admission to Guam.
