Guadeloupe Customs Rules for Yachts

For Customs pre-arrival and arrival procedures – see French Antilles Clearance for Yachts

Length of Stay

EU Customs rules apply. Boats visiting Guadeloupe may stay up to 18 months under temporary admission for tourism. French boats coming from another French territory go through customs only if they have something to declare. Vessels belonging to residents of France or overseas regions of France may stay without any Customs charges for up to 18 months.

Other items

Restricted goods, such as drugs, firearms, and ammunition, must be declared on arrival.

Generally customs regulations are the same as for France. See French Customs for more details.

The level of safety equipment onboard may be checked. Anything made from coral or turtle shell is illegal and will be confiscated if found in your bags (reported by Lonely Planet). Last updated: April 2025
