Cruising permits are paid every month, or part thereof. They can be paid in advance or collected retroactively when you fly or sail out of Grenada. Customs does not care if the permit is a month or so out of date, however it is your proof that your boat has legally cleared into the country. If a coastguard patrol boat should check the vessel, the cruising permit will verify that the vessel is legally in Grenadian waters.
The marina clearance offices issue and renew monthly cruising permits. See Clearance for the Port of Entry office listings. See Fees section for current costs.
Note: If you need to obtain an Extension of Visitor’s Permit, you will also need to have a valid, paid cruising permit. See Immigration and Fees for additional details. If you haul out you’re eligible for suspension of Cruising Permit fees for the duration of your boat’s time on the hard for any full month(s). Present a letter from the boatyard stating your time on the hard to any of the marina clearance offices. See Clearance for the Port of Entry office listings.
Note: This Cruising permit fee suspension is valid for full months (no partial months) out of the water only. It does NOT apply for in-water storage at a dock, mooring or at anchor.
