Description:
Poti is located on the eastern Black Sea, 33nm north of Batumi. Built near the site of the ancient Greek colony of Phasis, the city has become a major port city and industrial center.
Poti is a main naval base and the headquarters of the Georgian navy.
The whole port is now owned by a commercial shipping company and yacht club here no longer exists.
