Galapagos - Fees

Jul 01, 2025

All fees quoted here are in USD and are subject to change by the Ecuadorian government without notice.

Entry Permit (Autografo)

The Autografo is free of charge, however, there will be an agency fee to organise the Autografo on your behalf. This charge covers all the paperwork and the time spent by the agency to obtain the Autografo and look after the boat while in Galapagos for 30 days. If you want to extend your stay by a further 30 days, you will incur additional charges from the agency. The cost for obtaining an Autografo will vary from agency to agency, get a quote beforehand. Many agents ask for 50% of the costs to be paid up front.

PORT CLEARANCE

The following fees are charged on your initial clearance into the Galapagos at the port of entry, and then every time you depart from and arrive at an inhabited port within Galapagos. They have to be paid in cash on the islands, paying with a credit card is not an option.

Local Arrival Zarpe: $15.75
Local Departure Zarpe: $15.75
Local anchorage rate: $0.14 x LOA (m) x no. of days anchoring (at inhabited ports only)
Local arrival fee: $50 flat rate
Local departure fee: $50 flat rate
Security format: $0.19 flat rate

Overtime Fees
Overtime must be paid outside office hours, 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, at weekends or during local holidays. The overtime fees are almost double the normal fee. Request that your agent complete clearance DURING office hours.

National Park Cruising Fees

It is possible to cruise the islands on your own boat, but costs are high. The permission arrangement fee is around $2,000 and must be organised well in advance of your arrival via your agent (at least 2 months). You will need to pay an additional $200 per crew member for each day the boat is not in a recognised port. Plus a charge for a mandatory naturalist multi-lingual guide who must accompany you and be accommodated onboard (this could range from US$250-$400 per day depending on the agreement). Dinghies cannot be left ashore, so one crew member will probably have to stay aboard whilst the group explores ashore.

Note: This fee DOES NOT apply to the average cruiser who is moving from island to island, anchoring in the major ports. It only applies to yachts who want to actually cruise the park areas outside the major ports.

Other Fees

Re-inspection fee (if you fail quarantine inspection first time): $150

Garbage disposal: $30

Tours: between $100 - $200 per person per day

Water taxis: Maximum of $2/adult, $1/child per ride (use of dinghies is not recommended)
