Restrictions for Yachts in French Guiana

• A permit is necessary for visiting some Amerindian villages.
• The Guiana Space Centre contains the Îles du Salut, a former penal colony including the infamous Devil's Island. Now a tourist site, the islands are under the launching trajectory for geosynchronous orbit and have to be evacuated during launches. It is prohibited to anchor in the off-lying islands when a rocket is about to be launched into space. This is at least once a month.
