With the continual change in protocols due to the pandemic, we outline the last-known situation below for yacht arrivals. Skippers should follow the recommended links in "resources" to confirm the latest protocols. All Covid-19 restrictions on border traffic have been lifted.

History:

  • Late March, 2020, Finland closed its borders and suspended travel to Finland.
  • From 15 June, travel by pleasure craft became possible from Denmark, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway. Borders with non-EU countries remained closed.
  • At the start of July pleasure craft travel between Schengen countries became possible
  • In August 2020 some border controls were re-introduced with certain EU countries, however, recreational boat traffic continued to be unrestricted.
  • June 2022 Finland scrapped all Covid-19 entry requirements for travelers coming from the EU and Schengen travel area. Remainder of visitors needed to present proof of full vaccination or proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the past six months.
  • July 1st all restrictions were lifted.
