Falkland Islands - Local Customs

Aug 14, 2024

The war in 1982 is still a hot-button issue for both the British and Argentinians. It is a topic best avoided.

All land outside of Stanley is known as the Camp and is made up of large privately owned sheep farms.  Most Campers are very hospitable and like to know who is around in their backyard.

It is considered good manners to call at the settlement first, introduce yourself and ask permission before walking around.
