Arriving in Egypt with a Pet On Board

Requirements for traveling with a pet dog or cat:

  • Microchip: Your pet dog or cat must be microchipped.
  • Vaccinations: The pet must be vaccinated for rabies no sooner than 30 days before entry to Egypt. Additional immunizations for dogs include distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and leptospirosis. Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia are additional immunizations for cats.
  • Health Certificate: A health certificate issued by a licensed vet must be issued within 14 days of entry.

If entering Egypt by air, you are required to keep the pet in your custody for the first three months you are in Egypt.
